Descript's Tag feature allows you to label ranges of non-speech audio in the Script track. Tags
provide a convenient way to assure that speech text is not mis-attributed to non-speech sections of your text.
Adding Tags

Why can't I add a tag to my clip?
Tags can only be added to audio and video files that have been transcribed and placed in the main Timeline editor. If nothing happens after you select Add tag for range," try transcribing the file first. Please note that ranges cannot be placed on clips in the pinned track (above the timeline), or on multitrack Sequences.
Removing Tags
In the event that you need to remove/disassociate a tag from a portion of your audio, switch to Correct Text mode (Command + Option + E - MacOS / Control + Alt + E - Windows, or Edit menu > Toggle Correct Text).
Double-click on the tag to highlight it in blue, then delete. You will see that the audio is preserved in your timeline.
In the event that there is some text that needs to be restored to the audio, you can now add it back in using Correct Text mode.
