Splitting a Clip

Overview

You can make quick cuts and edits easily with Descript's Split Clip feature. Simply right-click on the section of the file you'd like to cut and select the Split Clip option.

You can also use the Keyboard Shortcut for the Split Clip feature

  • MacOS: Option + B
  • Windows: Alt + B

FAQ

Can I use Split Clip on the Pinned Track too?

Yes! You can use the same Keyboard Shortcut or steps shown above to edit the Pinned Track as well.

 

Does this split all tracks simultaneously? I just want to use Split Clip on one track, not all of them!

Currently the Split Clip tool only works on the track you select/click on, so no need to worry about accidentally splitting other clips.
