Typing Placeholder Text with Overdub

Use Overdub to type freely in your Composition with or without an associated Overdub Voice. Overdub is typically used as a way to compose voiceover or narration, and takes up space in your timeline to emulate a standard speaking rate (180 words per minute).

If you want to type in your Composition without taking up space in the timeline, use Notes.

 

How to add Overdub

There are several ways to insert Overdub:

  • Type Command + K (Mac) or Control + K (Windows) to bring up the Conductor window.
  • From the Insert dropdown, Overdub
  • Create a new blank line in your paragraph using the Enter key, then start typing
