Working with Cues

Descript makes adding basic effects to your Composition simple with the Cues feature. You can adjust the placement of your video, add effects for transitions, and more! 

 

Adding Cues

Cues can be added to your Composition by right-clicking in the timeline and selecting the Add Cue button.

You can also use the Conductor to add a Cue. Just type Ctrl + K (Windows) or Cmd + K (Mac) and search for Cue.

When adding Cues to your project, you will have four types of Cues to choose from. Each of these Cues can effect different Cue Properties within your Composition:

  •     Positions 
  •     Scale 
  •     Opacity 
  •     Gain

Adjusting Cue Length

You can adjust the Cue length by clicking and dragging the ends of the Cue in the Timeline,

or by increasing/decreasing the "Duration" in Cue Properties

Deleting Cues

You can delete a Cue by right-clicking and selecting Remove Cue

Cues are also present in the script view, so you can also delete the Cue by removing it from the script.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have overlapping cues?

No, but you can use the "Kitchen sink" tool if you need multiple cue effects happening simultaneously
